Welcome to Our New Academic Dean, Mr. Dustin Neyer!

“Hello! My name is Dustin Neyer, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Corpus Christi family as the Academic Dean. Originally from Mt. Pleasant, I grew up on a dairy farm and attended Sacred Heart Academy from Kindergarten through 12th grade. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Social Studies from Alma College, and I recently completed my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Western Governors University.

Over the past five years, I have taught 3rd/4th grade as well as 6th-8th grade in multi-grade classrooms, implementing project-based learning to engage students in meaningful ways. Supporting students from diverse backgrounds and fostering a growth mindset are at the core of my educational philosophy. Outside of the classroom, I have a passion for athletics! I played college football while I was at Alma and have also been coaching middle school basketball for the past five years. One of my most memorable memories from high school was being #1 on Sportscenter Top Ten Plays for a buzzer beater shot I made in a basketball game.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, attending concerts and sporting events, lending a hand on my dad’s dairy farm, and cherishing the role of being the “cool” uncle to my 2-year-old niece, Harper. Building positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community is what I value most in education. I’m excited to now have the opportunity to integrate my faith into this new role and connect with the Corpus Christi family. I look forward to continuing my educational journey in Holland and getting to know the Corpus Christi community better!”

“¡Hola! Mi nombre es Dustin Neyer y estoy emocionado de unirme a la familia de Corpus Christi como Decano Académico. Originario de Mt. Pleasant, crecí en una granja lechera y asistí a la Academia del Sagrado Corazón desde el jardín de infantes hasta el 12° grado. Me gradué con una Licenciatura en Educación Primaria y Estudios Sociales de Alma College, y recientemente completé mi Maestría en Liderazgo Educativo en Western Governors University.

En los últimos cinco años, he enseñado en grados de 3º/4º y de 6º a 8º en aulas multigrado, implementando el aprendizaje basado en proyectos para involucrar a los estudiantes de manera significativa. Apoyar a estudiantes de diversos orígenes y fomentar una mentalidad de crecimiento son fundamentales en mi filosofía educativa. ¡Fuera del aula, tengo una pasión por el deporte! Jugaba fútbol universitario mientras estaba en Alma y también he estado entrenando baloncesto de secundaria durante los últimos cinco años. Uno de mis recuerdos más memorables de la escuela secundaria fue estar en el puesto número 1 en Sportscenter Top Ten Plays por un tiro ganador sobre la chicharra en un partido de baloncesto.

En mi tiempo libre, disfruto viajar, asistir a conciertos y eventos deportivos, echar una mano en la granja lechera de mi papá y valorar el papel de ser el “tío genial” de mi sobrina de 2 años, Harper. La construcción de relaciones positivas con los estudiantes, los padres, el personal y la comunidad es lo que más valoro en la educación. Estoy emocionado de tener ahora la oportunidad de integrar mi fe en este nuevo rol y conectar con la familia de Corpus Christi. ¡Espero con ansias continuar mi viaje educativo en Holland y conocer mejor a la comunidad de Corpus Christi!”
